Introduction: As with most Leo Fender designs, he seemed to always get it right to on the first try. When the feature-rich Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960, it came fitted with individual, adjustable felt string-mutes neatly hidden under the chrome bridge cover. With the felt softly hugging the sides of each string, a uniquely musical warm thuddy tone could edge the electric bass a little closer to sounding like a traditional double bass. However thoughtfully designed, these mutes were to only see three years as a feature, replaced by a simple strip of foam. Thud Muffins Felt Bass Mutes are a tribute to this unique design, bringing musicians the iconic sound of a felt-muted electric bass once again.
